My family and I met Robyn Rosenberger of Tiny Superheroes a few months ago and knew we simply had to help her in any way we could. If you’ve never heard of Tiny Superheroes, you need to. They make capes for children all around the country facing illnesses which are terminal, undiagnosed, or simply don’t have a cure. Robyn and her family and friends have been hand-making capes for these littlest of superheroes, encouraging them to continue fighting the good fight against whatever ails them and calling attention to how incredible these kids really are.

If you know us, you know my family has an affinity towards all things superhero (with a particular nod towards Iron Man), and we’ve long wanted our photography to be a vehicle for giving back and bringing joy to others. We could not have been more excited about arranging a shoot with Tiny Superheroes to help get the word out about their incredible efforts on behalf of these special kids.

Here’s your opportunity to contribute to Robyn’s incredible and life-changing work. Tiny Superheroes has launched an indiegogo campaign with 22 days left to raise $64,000 so they can help empower 1,500 Tiny Superheroes over the next 12 months. Please dig deep and offer whatever support you can to all the kids who are facing a greater battle than most of us have ever known.

I’ll leave you with this – Fred Rogers, from “Mr. Roger’s Neighborhood”, once said, “Anyone who does anything to help a child in his life is a hero to me.”

We headed out last winter for their engagement session and not only did they brave the cold, but Aileen even wore shorts for the first half! As soon as I saw that, I knew we were going to have an awesome time together.

We had the extreme honor and privilege to work with absolutely amazing couples, fly to cool places to shoot weddings, and hang out with incredible families and kids. And our clients weren’t just clients…they became good friends.

We were stoked to have had several opportunities to shoot alongside unbelievably talented photographers – Dorothy Huynh, Karen Obrist, Lauren Kennedy, Amber Zbitnoff, Christina Whittaker, Tim Sohn, Alex Rapada, and George Chaney. Thank you all so much for inspiring us with your work, your wit, and your passion for photography.

We were stretched and grew in ways we never expected and we’re absolutely PUMPED for the future. We thank God every day that we get to do something that we love so much.

To all who gave us the opportunity to capture a moment of your lives in 2012, thank you, thank you, THANK YOU with every fiber of our being. You have no idea how grateful we are for your trust, encouragement, and friendship.

And as for you, remaining 3/4 of 2013…it’s on like Donkey Kong.

I knew right then and there that they were going to be fun to hang out with and shoot. AND THEY TOTALLY WERE.

Jo & Joe are getting married this Sunday out in Snoqualmie. The forecast is 72 degrees and sunny. And I can definitively say that it’s gunna be the BEST. THING. EVER.

They weren’t necessarily looking for a relationship at the time, but one began at a mutual friend’s party. They lived in different cities, but distance only drew them closer together.

We started our time together in Westwood before heading over to Santa Monica, and the entire session was incredible. Pose like models? Check. Laugh? Check. Look deeply into each other’s eyes? Check. Check. Check.

They’re getting married on Saturday and it’s going to be EPIC.

…cause sometimes people get hungry during their engagement session, that’s why…

We headed out earlier this year when the cherry blossoms were in bloom at University of Washington, and let’s just say they were almost as incredible as this pair.

You see, Dennis is a HUGE San Francisco Giants fan.

And the Giants just happened to be playing the Mets.

In New York.

So, clearly, he had to go see his beloved Giants play at Citi Field.

And Jolyn was available to go along with him for their first date.

And the rest, as they say, is history.

Katey & Jason were married late last year at the Willows Lodge in Woodinville. Katey could not possibly have been a more stunning bride, and even forecasters predicting a 60% chance of rain couldn’t put a damper on her joy. Fortunately the 40% chance of clear skies won out and it turned out to be a perfect evening for a wedding.

Style, you ask? Three words: Gold. Valentino. Heels. ‘Nuff said. (Ok, that was really five words.)

When Jason saw Katey for the first time, anyone could tell from his smile that this was unquestionably one of the best days in the history of his life. And from the way they looked at each other from that point on, you knew that these two were absolutely madly in love and completely meant for each other.

Katey & Jason, thank you, thank you, thank you for choosing me to be your wedding photographer. It was a huge blessing for me to see both a culmination of what God had been doing in bringing you two together and the beginning of your new life as a married couple.

Thank you also to Karen Obrist of Karen Obrist Photography for being my second shooter for the 5th time last year! Collaborating with you has been an absolute dream.
